FARMINGTON – A Saturday competition will pair well-known local figures with professional dancers from the Utah Ballroom Dance Company.

Professional dancers have been working with the "celebrities" this week as they prepare for the "Dancing with Farmington's Stars" event. They will perform at 7 p.m. at the Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington St.

The local figures include Farmington Mayor Tommy Roberts, associate city planner Keith Neil, KOB-TV reporter Devin Neeley, emergency medical services teacher Jamie Lujan, KSJE General Manager Scott Michlin, dance studio owner Sheila Mobley, Farmington Chamber of Commerce President Audra Winters and Bloomfield communication and marketing specialist Dorothy Nobis.

The duos of local dancers and professional dancers will perform a 90-second ballroom dance routine. The Saturday performance will include costumes, video highlights and a local judging panel, according to a press release from the city of Farmington's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs department.

The audience will vote to determine the winner, who will take home a mirror ball trophy, according to the press release.

Tickets to the show are $20 and can be purchased online at fmtn.org/civiccenter or by calling 505-599-1148.
